Process of BIS FMCS for Automobile Accessories:

Preparation: Accept BIS terms, collect necessary documents (business license, trademark certificate, manufacturing equipment details), etc.
Application Form: Apply online on the BIS portal or submit hard copies offline at the FMCD department in Delhi. Pay the registration fee.
Issue Raised (if any): Address any issues raised by BIS authorities. Nomination of AIR: Nominate an AIR with knowledge of FMCS, government regulations, manufacturing, and automobile accessories.
Factory Audit: Pay the inspection fee. Authorities visit the factory premises to assess standards conformity, including location, equipment, raw materials, testing facilities, and production processes.
Inspection: International manufacturers pay the required fee for the inspection. BIS FMCS authorities visit the factory to examine manufacturing processes, quality control procedures, machinery, and raw materials.
Product Sample: Authorities collect samples to ensure quality, safety, reliability, and performance. Samples are sent to BIS and NABL-certified laboratories.
Laboratory Results: Negative reports halt the process, while positive reports lead to compliance and license issuance. Issuance of Certification: Pay the license fee and other fees for certification issuance.
Indemnity Bond and PBG: Sign an indemnity bond and provide a USD 10,000 Performance Bank Guarantee.
