BIS CRS Registration for CCTV Cameras & Recorders

In the current era, security is a top priority for individuals across homes, offices, and public spaces. CCTV cameras and recorders play a pivotal role in enhancing security and have become integral to our daily lives. For manufacturers and importers of these devices in India, compliance with the quality standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) is mandatory. BIS CRS registration ensures adherence to regulations, and failure to comply can lead to legal consequences. This article provides insights into the benefits, necessary documents, registration costs, validity, and the procedure for obtaining BIS CRS certification for CCTV cameras and recorders.

Customer Confidence: BIS registration serves as a mark of quality and reliability, instilling confidence in customers regarding the safety and quality of the product.

Procedure of Registration:

Identification of IS Standard: Identify the appropriate quality standards for the product before applying for CRS registration.
Documentation and Filing: Provide necessary details and documents along with test reports from BIS certified testing labs.
Verification and Inspection: Licensing authorities inspect and verify documents and premises (if required) before issuing a BIS certificate.
Issuance of BIS Certificate: BIS CRS registration is issued within 20-25 days upon completing all formalities.
