Registration Form: Register online on the BIS portal or submit hard copies offline at the FMCD department in Delhi. Pay the registration cost and fill out the application form with accurate information.
Issue Raised (if any): Authorities consider only thorough and accurate applications. Organisations are notified of any issues via email.
Nomination of AIR: An Authorized Indian Representative (AIR) is selected to handle affairs on behalf of the organization to the BIS authorities. The AIR must be an Indian resident with knowledge of BIS FMCS, government policies, and organizations.
Factory Audit: Pay the inspection fee. BIS authorities visit the production unit to assess location, machinery efficiency, quality control standards, and the manufacturing process.
Product Sample: Collect Electrical Motors samples for quality, efficiency, reliability, and safety assessment. Evaluate samples at in-house and BIS-approved laboratories.
Laboratory Results: Unfavorable results halt the license issuance process. Favorable results indicate compliance with BIS standards, allowing the FMCS license issuance process to proceed.
Issuance of Certification: Pay the advance minimum marking fee and FMCS license fee. The organization receives an FMCS license upon completion of fees and processes.
Indemnity Bond and PBG: Sign an indemnity bond with the BIS authorities. Provide a USD 10,000 Performance Bank Guarantee.
