Over 70 types of electronic products fall under BIS registration, and manufacturers or importers of these products must undergo compulsory registration. The certificate is exclusively issued to the original manufacturers of the product.
Process of BIS CRS Registration:
Identification of product IS: Identify the appropriate IS standard for the product for which BIS quality Certification is sought. Details & Documentation: Submit various documents during the application filing, including a test report from BIS certified labs. Submission of Application Fee: Pay the initial application fee at the time of submission. Issuance of CRS Certification: After thorough verification & inspection of documents and premises, BIS registration is issued within 20-25 days.
Registration Cost for BIS CRS Certification for Mobiles:
Lab Test: ₹25,000
Application Fee: ₹43,000
Professional Fee: ₹10,000
Validity of CRS Registration: 2 years
Renewal Fee: Same as application fee, additional professional fee for renewal is ₹7,500.
Note: The fees mentioned are exclusive of GST. Foreign Manufacturers and Non-MSME entities need to pay an additional fee of ₹10,000 for their BIS CRS application.
